10. How will I send faxes with my eFax account?

As an eFax Plus customer, you can send a fax in three different ways. You can send through your personal email, through eFax Messenger, or you can send via the eFax website.

  • For sending faxes through email, simply use the following format: [faxnumberformat@efaxsend.com]. Note that the fax number format should include the full country code, area code without the leading zero, followed by the local number, even if you are faxing within the UK.

For example, if sending a fax to London number 020 7856 6745, you would type in 442078566745@efaxsend.com. If you omit a ‘country code’ in an address to be faxed, no calls will be made to the UK telephone networks as with your Fax 2 Email provider.

Also with eFax, the ‘+’ sign in front of country code is no longer required to specify an international destination. Below are some examples of domestic/international addresses you would type:

    DestinationFax numberAddress
    UK – London0207 555 1234442075551234@efaxsend.com
    France – Paris33 (0) 157 829 8867331578298867@efaxsend.com
    USA – Los Angeles1 213 456 789012134567890@efaxsend.com
    India – Madras91 44 776 499291447764992@efaxsend.com

You may register up to five email addresses. Thereafter, you will need another eFax number for every 5 email addresses.

12. Can I save my faxes online? How big is the storage space? How long is the storage for?

With eFax Plus, your faxes can be stored for up to one year online in the eFax Message Center. 12 months after you receive faxes, these messages will be removed and cannot be recovered. If you wish to keep your faxes online longer than 12 months, please consider an upgrade to eFax Pro.

eFax Pro is a more complete communication solution. In addition to the features of eFax Plus, you can receive up to 200 fax pages per month and access your faxes online for up to two years. Your eFax Pro number will also accept voicemail and deliver it as an email attachment.

15. How is usage charged?

Monthly or annual subscription charges are billed to your credit card on your regular (anniversary) billing date, which is determined by your account's creation date. Outbound and inbound faxing charges are debited from a separate prepaid usage balance. This prepaid reorder amount is called a "top-up." A top-up is billed to your credit card whenever your service credit is exhausted and your top-up balance (less the estimated charges for any pending faxes) drops to £1.00/2.00€.

The top-up amount is set to £6.00/9.00€ by default.

16. What is a Top-up?

A top-up is a prepaid usage credit applied to your eFax account. To avoid service interruptions eFax automatically debits the Top-up from your credit card when your usage balance drops to £1.00/2.00€. The top-up amount is set to £6.00/9.00€ by default.
